First pic is of Stickers on Dec9th I believe, about the last picture taken of him with headgear.
Pic 2&3 are of his sheds found Dec 27th. One was found in front of the camera a short disatnce, the other was found a few yards from the first over a levy at the edge of a weedy field.
This buck is one my son has been hunting with his friend that owns a farm 4 miles West of mine in the river bottom. He was only seen once during the daylight and open season. This is Monty, a neighbor holding them for the pictures, although he is holding them too far apart you can still tell they are good sized. They will score them someday as sheds, will be interesting to see what the total is.
Just for a reference, he has one brow tine 10 1/2 inches long the other is 8 inches, don't know what some of the other tines measure.

Just a pig!! He's got some awesome mass! He looks like a 4 1/2 or 5 1/2 yr old deer. Hope ya get some trail cam pics of him next year. If he gets the same nutrition. I'll bet he blows up ,off the charts. Hey keep us updated on the score. Hard to tell with pics sometime. But geesh, they look like 80's to 90's per side. Hope you guys get a crack at him next year. Would love to see him on the ground. :o ;) :)

:o

Wow! I'm rendered speachless (man would my girlfriend love it if I stayed that way lol)! Just a gorgeous buck and a great set of sheds! I love how you have the trail cam pics to match! Now you've got personal history with this bruiser! If he gets any bigger and you were to be so blessed as to harvest him... the trophy becomes that much bigger! Way to go bud and what a way to look forward to next year!

I see they're droppin out your way too! A few weeks ago I thought it was just my area in the northeast that was seeing the early drop (see my thread I posted "droppin bone.... Already!"), but then I started hearing stories from VT, then NH, then PA, then VA, and now MO! My theory on this is that the testosterone levels dropped just as quick as the thermometer did toward the end of the year. More and more folks here locally are catching sightings of half rackers and antlerless bucks now. I believe we had an early rut this year and it wasn't as "hard hitting" as we would have like to had seen it be. The one half racker I saw was limping, so I can theorize that the buck lost it's one half of it's rack because of an injury. The others I've seen have been smaller bucks, to which I believe lose theirs first anyway because of the smaller amounts of testosterone levels in them versus their older, bigger buck counterparts. I did see a decent eight point on my property the other day with a full rack still... so I know there are still a few out there. But I did check our soybean field two nights ago with a darn near full moon and snow covered field and could see well over 75+ deer in the field. Not a one had any horn on it's head... and I know they were'nt ALL does!

Anyway, that's just a hawg mack daddy buster bruiser buck right there! It's funny though Grizz... cuz this particular trail cam pic of this buck has stood out to me here on the site and was one that I said "Dang that's a big ol' buck and one that I'd love to harvest!".... I knew he was big from the pic, but after seeing the sheds I didn't fathom that he was THAT big! Wow! Great find Grizz! Thanks for sharing this great tale of the trail! :-*

GF I read your post Droppin Bone and I thought, WOW, that's early but indeed they are really falling here too.Several have been found and one of my cousins messed up big time last week. He took a big "doe" that was being followed by her fawn, problem was, it really was a 180 lb shed buck so he will catch Heck tonight at his New Years Eve party. Bad thing for me is he shot it right across the fence from my East farm so one of my bucks hit the dirt and we don't know which one :-/
We are having some real cold weather here that may be speeding up the process, not sure, but much earlier than last year. There are so many bucks on my place with trails going to the same 2 bedding areas I'm hoping it will be a great year to find sheds and learn just how big some of them are and knowing they probably will get larger next year has already got me looking forward to 2010 season.Couple nights ago I saw 7 bucks with antlers so there are several that have'ntshed yet.
I know I'm going to start looking at my trail cam pics and study them closer, do some measuring somehow like comparing antlers with know body height, length of face ect cause there is sure no ground shrinkage on this buck they named Stickers.
He will get measured probably in March or April, then we'll know how many inches he adds up to. He surely has to be in the mid 160's Gross but we'll see.
He doesn't look like an old buck to me either in the trail cam pic.
And LongSpur he will get all the nutrition he needs, his home is right in the middle of thousands of acres of corn/beans and the drainage ditches are choked full of brush and weeds so by next year, well I'll just say he could make a guy real NERVOUS BY NEXT YEAR if he were to walk out in front of your stand.

I got a call from a friend that works with me this past Wednesday on Jan 13. He has property he hunts just east of Cincinnati. He informed me that he found a shed already. I on the other hand I live and hunt in Kentucky. The next day I took a walk with my dog in the woods behind my house and in about an hour I my dog found both sets of sheds to a nice ten point buck in the snow. I wonder how many more big boys are in my back yard. There could be some nice bucks right here under my nose. I might have to set up a stand and bow hunt the woods in my neighborhood. I will post pics of the sheds and any others I find.

Had the sheds of Stickers in my hands yesterday, they are big and just awesome is all I can say. They weigh 6.5 lbs,and of all times not to have my camera. Got all interested in shed hunting but saw 3 bucks with both sides in the evening, one was a big 10 point, may be because of the hundred acres of soybeans here at my house, but they just won't drop their headgear on my place.
